A Message from our Principal

Dear Parents, Families, and Community,

The PTA art show and auction is one of my favorite events. It is an opportunity for parents and students to spend time together as a community and for families to take advantage of some outstanding, as well as fun, gift baskets. I hear great things from the PTA as they prepare for the event. We can always use help with this event so please contact the PTA if you can lend a hand. Please mark your calendars for the evening of Thursday, February 18; there is something for everyone and it is a chance for me to say hello!

Twelve more tables were unloaded this week, a generous donation from the Adam Craig Foundation. Adam visited with students at our last assembly and answered questions from the audience about his music career. It was a nice treat for the students.

February 9 marks the opportunity for our community members to support replacing the expiring levy by voting on the four-year replacement levy for educational programs and operations. Levy dollars provide 20% of the district’s budget. The district has a fact sheet for those who might want more information on the specifics of programs funded by this levy. You can pick up the fact sheet at the school. I was pleased to hear that if our levy passes, the state will provide an additional $250,000 for our educational programs. These funds directly impact programs at our school, such as music and physical education, just to top the list! Please direct questions to Citizens for Tenino Schools, me, or our superintendent, Mr. Belmonte.
