Welcome to Tenino Elementary, the proud home of Tenino the Tiger!
We are a community of third, fourth, and fifth grade students learning, growing, and mastering a host of skills in preparation for careers, continuing education, and success in life. Our staff and volunteers take pride in the excitement, rigor, and passion that we infuse into the learning process.
A Message from our Principal
Dear Parents, Families, and Community,
Generosity is our Tiger theme for December and January. It is easy to find examples of generosity reflecting the healthy level of community interaction and support.
At our last spirit assembly, Mrs. Robin Rudy addressed the student body about local family needs at the Tenino Food Bank. Our student leadership team will organize the TES Food Drive, “12 Days of Giving,” beginning on Monday, November 30 through Tuesday, December 15.
Our PTA continues to generously provide opportunities for parents and students to join together for school activities. They invest a great deal of time and energy for all of us. This is a great organization. If you are not yet a member, and are looking for an opportunity to help, please considering joining!
Mr. Howard Wheeler has generously donated nine thin client computers to our library lab, making that lab large enough to accommodate full classes. These computers are used extensively to produce student work, access web-based academic programs, and for testing. Mr. Wheeler continues to support Tenino Elementary School and our students.
Our third grade students received dictionaries from The Skookumchuck Grange through their National Dictionary Project. We thank them for their continued support of our students.
We had such amazing attendance at the Donuts for Dad’s celebration that extra tables had to be set up. Upon realizing the poor condition of the tables, the Adam Craig Foundation offered to replace them – all of them! The foundation continues to be a huge support to our school. Last year it provided the fifth grade guitars and electronic equipment needed for our music program.
The Veterans Day Assembly brought new inspiring messages to our children from local veterans and active duty personnel within our community, for which we are all grateful. It was a powerful assembly!
Thank you for your generosity and ongoing support of our schools.
David Ford, Principal
